Introductions: Ambereen Dadabhoy

Hi All,

I'm Ambereen Dadabhoy, an Assistant Professor of Literature at HMC. I'm very excited about joining this group because my research focuses on the Mediterranean contact zone. What I have found by studying this geography is that it is a border zone that simultaneously brings people together while also establishing boundaries around identity and culture. I find it fascinating that this sea has connected three different continents, peoples, and religions, yet we often think about this region more in terms of conflict than we do of cooperation and exchange. I'm looking forward to learning more about the Mediterranean and Malta as well as about robotics and engineering!

Introductions - Russell Bingham

Hi everyone,

My name is Russell Bingham and I'm a sophomore at Harvey Mudd majoring in engineering.  I plan to specialize in controls and electrical engineering at Mudd and eventually get a degree in AI and machine learning.

I'm extremely excited about the ICEX program because it uniquely combines two of my primary academic interests -- robotics and history.  I've previously travelled a little in Europe (not Malta) and just finished a history course on The Ancient Mediterranean, so looking for previously undiscovered Mediterranean archaeological sites is a dream come true for me. 

It seems like this is a really awesome group of people, and I'm very excited to meet all of you!

Introduction - Bonita

I am a 3rd year Software Engineering major and applying for the Computing Interactive Arts Minor at Cal Poly. Art has always been a huge passion of mine but math and engineering have as well (and my mom wasn't helping to pay for a liberal arts degree haha) so I took a risk applying to Cal Poly for Software Engineering when I had never coded before but Zoë Woods classes introduced me to the world of graphics and I fell in love instantly! I can't wait to explore Malta and the world of graphics with y'all!

I'm from San Antonio, Texas and my dog and I are avid travelers of North America but we've never been over seas! While Xena won't be going with us to Malta don't worry I will have daily adorable dog photos for everyone during coding breaks! I can't wait for this summer:)
